Fees and Rebates

You do not need a referral to see me. However, if you want to avail a rebate under the Medicare scheme you will need a referral to see me.

I am accredited by Medicare to provide services under the “Better Access to Mental Health” scheme. This scheme allows patients to receive a rebate of $131.65 per session (current as of 01/03/2023) with a clinical psychologist for a maximum of 10 sessions per year.

If you belong to a Private Health Fund you may be able to claim a rebate for psychological services. The circumstances under which you can claim and the amount you will receive back varies from fund to fund, so it is best to check with your provider directly to get the most accurate information.
*Please note that you cannot claim from both Medicare and your Health Fund for the same session.

Cancellations

I understand that occasionally appointments need to be cancelled or rescheduled due to unforeseen circumstances. I request that you provide at least 48 hours’ notice (i.e., two days) if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment to allow time for the appointment to be offered to another patient. If less than 48 hours’ notice is given then a $100 fee will apply. It is important to note that Medicare and Private Health Funds do not provide rebates for cancelled appointments.
